EDDIE PONCE Youth Soccer Coach At the age of four Eddie was introduced to the game of soccer. AYSO was his start, but his skills and knowledge of the game would eventually land him on top ranked teams in Southern California. The son of a former professional soccer player, Antonio Ponce (U.A.G. Tecos, Mexico), Eddie has created his own soccer career that is still young and growing. Eddie has taken on the opportunity to coach the youth at DMS11. With his experience as a leader, player, and student of the game, there is no doubt his coaching will flourish. Growing up in a Hispanic Community has helped this young man appreciate many things in life, and also taught him to love the game of soccer. Beginning his soccer career at age four, Eddie has matured into a tough, smart, and technical player of the game. Playing under coaches such as Steve Sampson (former U.S. National Team coach) and Dan Metcalfe, Eddie has learned to understand the game and the fact that a coach is constantly learning as well as teaching. Experience is always a great asset and this he does not lack. From his few years at AYSO to his playing days at Coast Soccer League; there have been many successes in his young career. Having won numerous championships from premier level competition to national championships, Eddie knows what it takes to get there. Always willing to teach, this young man is full of energy, knowledge, and experience.
