_____________________________________________________ dan metcalfe talks at the cysa-s coaches education Dan was asked to speak to over 100 coaches to finish the days events at the cysa-s coaches education course. the topic included preparation for players to step to the highest levels, utilizing time dan has spent at fulham fc of the english premier league, and knowledge gained from the english fa psychology courses. understanding the pressure on players at the highest level, training preparation at the youngest age and building a players confidence to handle it with early development is a must for all coaches of players wishing to play at the top level. dan used visualization for preparation as well as movie anecdotes to bring home success and improvement in life as well as soccer. _____________________________________________________ dms11 u13 boys demonstrate at the cysa-s coaches education the dms11 u13 boys had a fantastic experience as the demonstrating team for the cysa-s coaches education program at usc. it was a rain filled day but the boys performed amazingly well to give a great picture to the watching coaches of soccer at its best. the boys first worked with ian feuer, head goalkeeper coach of the la galaxy. ian took the boys through a training session focusing on the goalkeeper and defense to react to the ball being played around the penalty area, and decisions having to be made in a moment of opportunity. communication and decision making are critical to a successful team performance and the boys had a great learning experience form one of the best coaches in the us. steve hoffman, head coach of the olympic development program, took the boys through an attacking session focusing on combination play between forwards, focusing on different runs and passing opportunities to create the shot. despite over 2 hours in the rian, the players had a great time and will remember this day for the rest of their lives. for dms11 it is imperitive that their players get to experience pressure situations like thses where, in adverse conditions, the players must still be able to perform to their best ability in front of coaches they do not know. this is preparation for their future, as every player will one day be scouted, tryout or attend a camp in a program they want to be selected for. starting the process as early as possible will prepare the players to be ready, and the boys did great _____________________________________________________ dms11 league success dms11 u11 league champions dms11 u13 gain promotion opportunity
