JAVIEN CORTES It's certainly been a great Summer of Soccer for me. ODP camps in Ojai, Beach training in Malibu, Tournaments in Pasadena and Laguna Niguel. I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome any new additions to the DMS11 Academy. I know that a variety of boys and girls have recently signed for our teams. Feel free to come and say hi at the fields sometime. You've made an excellent decision by choosing us. A special mention to the players who have joined from Bakersfield. I'm sure that many of you have witnessed the enthusiasm and talent they bring. It's a quite unique chemistry when combined with our already strong core. One of these new additions is Javien Cortes, a very gifted young player who has quickly become an important and popular member of the DMS11 U11 squad.
* What do you think is the Strongest part of your game? My strength is to push harder when my team is down. Never giving up. * Anything in particular that you would like to work/improve on? My left foot. I know I can use it, but don't try hard enough to use it, and shoot as often as I should. * Which professional players in Europe inspire you? Messi and Chicharito. Messi has good footwork/skills. Chicharito is great at headers. * Why do you think that training is important? It makes you better.
* Do you have any particular aims for the season ahead? To be DMS11 U11 team league Champions! * What is the best thing about playing for DMS11? Everything! My teammates are really nice. Coach Luke is cool & funny. My new uniform and ball. Thanks Javien James
Dan and I extending our reach... Coaching in Bakersfield with the help of Lorenzo Magana and Luis Varon.
